The AUTO Soils Direct Shear (ASD) system is a fully automatic direct and residual shear apparatus designed to increase throughput and improve data quality in busy geotechnical laboratories. It replaces manual weights and frequent operator intervention with precise stepper-motor control across a 15 kN consolidation range and 5 kN shear range, eliminating the need for a compressor and significantly reducing noise in the lab. The ASD manages consolidation and shear stages automatically, with horizontal and vertical displacements measured by high-accuracy LVDTs and stored digitally for analysis and reporting. A 7" waterproof colour touchscreen provides clear setup, logging and graphical views, with user-configurable templates for fast repeat testing.
